It definitely absorbed somw of the sweat BUT it falls apart and throws little pieces once it's too moist and made it nearly impossible for my son to see because these pieces kept falling on his face while playing the game. May not work too well in Miami with the amount of humidity and heat that we play in.
I have been using the Black Sweat Liners for years whenever I officiate hockey games. I like that they absorb the sweat, almost always do not leak and are usually easy to remove. On occasion, when removing the used liner, the adhesive sticks a little too tightly and the liner will tear and the contents will spill out.

I have been using these now for nearly 10 years and am a huge fan. As a bald guy who sweats a lot, I have found this to be the best and most convenient product that consistently works every time.
High quality: I have never had one fail on me. Absorbs all the sweat from my forehead and the adhesive has always stayed attached throughout game. When you remove this from your helmet there is no sticky residue left on your helmet.
Comfort: I actually find these to add comfort to my hockey helmet and should add that they leave no marks.
This is one of those simple stupid ideas that do exactly what it says it does.
